The morning began for the mission team at 7 o'clock (and for those who couldn't sleep that night, it began earlier :-D) when we met at the church for last-minute instructions and prayer. Praise was offered to the LORD who made this trip possible.
The luggage was loaded, and the team headed off to the new Indianapolis airport, which is very nice and efficient. Our flight took off on time (10:34-ish), and we arrived safely in Atlanta, GA. After a 5 hour layover, during which we walked around and met up with Mark DeYoung, our plane took off after enduring a one-hour delay on the runway due to air traffic problems. The flight took about 6.5 hours, so we landed at 11:23 (local time). Praise God that the entire group made it through security smoothly. Julie Schiefer and Silvia Bermudez met us after we waited quite a long time for our 24 pieces of luggage. We met our bus driver at the bus and drove through beautiful downtown Lima at 1 A.M! Everyone got to bed around 2 A.M. and rested up for a busy Saturday in Peru!
